Who is L2L?

The Lighthouse2Lighthouse Ladies Walk is a NPO who hosts an annual 4-day walk of 100 kilometres along the pristine shore of the Southern Cape coast, in the Western Cape of South Africa. The yearly walks starts at the historic Lighthouse at Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of the African continent and the walk finishes at Danger Point Lighthouse, situated outside the famous great white shark diving tourism hub of Gansbaai within the Overberg District.

The main purpose of the Walk in March every year is to raise funds for charities situated within the Overstrand District Municipality. The goal of this dynamic group of women is to bring light through fundraising in aid of charity projects. The Lighthouse2Lighthouse Ladies Walk aims to make a difference with each step they take along this beautiful landscape.

Each year female volunteers, country wide, register to participate in this life-changing event. The route takes them along a diverse landscape of different terrain, including sandy beaches, fynbos bush trails and pebbled jeep tracks, with tar road thrown into the mix to make it more interesting. Each step a walker takes aims to raise funds towards a selected charity every year.
